The Qualification for the 2019 Hong Kong E-Prix followed the regular pattern, as the field was divided into four groups, with the championship position as the basis for splitting. Six minutes was allotted to the groups, allowing each driver the chance to set a single full power. After that, the fastest six would proceed to Superpole.
Jerome d’Ambrosio came into Hong Kong leading the drivers’ pack with fifty-three points. He was followed by Antonio Felix da Costa, BMW Andretti’s driver, who finished 4th in the Mexico E-Prix. Sam Bird got the third position with 45 points and just one-point difference between him and Antonio Felix da Costa.
For the teams’ championship, it’s Mahindra Racing who leads with 83 points, with a 10 points gap over Virgin Racing who comes 2nd, and Andretti (BMW) in the third position, having 64 points.
The Hong Kong E-Prix event also served as a commemoration of the 50th Epix in the history dates of Formula E.
